What is Punterlash

Punterclash is a social betting site that connects punters with one another globally. Create groups and challenge one another in a highly competitive community of punters.

Overview

My goals are -Identify usability challenges with other betting sites through user research -create and validate possible design solutions

Problem Statement

So we all understand that gambling offers you the chance of winning money or prizes, but have you considered some of the other reasons for gambling? risk taking, escapism, glamorous, social and for the status of being the best. all these reasons culminates into a culture where sport lovers show solidarity, fandom, passion and excitement for the game by placing their knowledge and money just to prove to the opposition they were right. But this passion or feeling however isn't projected well in the regular betting platforms as in their case its case, you against the bookie and the house always wins.

So the challenge for Punterclash was to create a platform where sport lovers and punters can enjoy this excitement, escapism, money etc as they challenge each others to see who is the best punter, thereby fostering their love for the sport and their team.

Design Process

The concept of the product came from the need for punters to minimize loss. A lot of punters lose to bookies and the ticket becomes wasted. The platform provides punters the ability to win more by challenging each other with their betting ticket. In this game the punters weapon is a betting ticket which she against an opponent. The platform also creates an avenue .for punters to discuss and share experiences amongst themselves .

Research

Research objective

  1. Find out punter's pain points, frustration and value added from betting
  2. Validate the concept: Since the product idea here is relatively new, it was important to validate the idea with it's potential User.

I started out by interviewing the key stakeholders to mark down the project brief and deliverables and most importantly, the business goal(s) of the project and it's success criteria.

Next, I set out to interview potential users, I met with over 50 people personally and across different states and also got to interview some other 20 via Skype call. From the initial data gathered from the interviews, questionnaires were sent out and about 120 users responded.
